This year DRIE, CCEP, BCI Canada, Canadian Red Cross and DRI Canada are again teaming up to promote Business Continuity Awareness Week (BCAW). BCAW's have been organized internationally since 2005 to raise awareness and enhance the ability of all types of organizations to practice Business Continuity Management (BCM). The Theme for 2012 is: "The Time to Act is Now"

"A disaster is not the time to think about what to do next"

Everyone can relate to the sense of time pressure and how our perception of elapsed time changes dramatically under stress. Certainly in a disaster scenario, awareness of the clock ticking with impacts rising, by the minute, is a crucial dimension of response and recovery. It is not the time to be making new introductions or rehearsing. It is real time.

BCAW is an ideal stimulus for educating organizations on the importance of business continuity planning, by sharing experiences, knowledge and best practices. By working together we can be better prepared to handle adversity when it arises. This site is a public meeting place that provides BCAW members with a shared calendar , discussion forums , member profiles , photo gallery , file storage and more.
