DRIE BCAW 2017 Call for Presentations

I just sent this blast:

Business Continuity Awareness Week May 15-19, 2017
Deadline: April 7, 2017
Business Continuity Awareness Week (BCAW) is an annual global education event that brings together the collective expertise of Business Continuity Management (BCM) practitioners and partners to help people better understand how applying BCM to their organization can foster greater resilience.
This year’s theme is: Cyber Resilience
In recognition of BCAW 2017, we’re looking to hold a series of webinars throughout the month of May. Please consider being a webinar presenter. Deadline for submissions: 5:00 pm EST on April 7, 2017.

  • You have a story to share about the advantages of having a business continuity plan / BCM Program in place.
  • You are dedicated to sharing your industry knowledge.
  • Many of us struggle with the same challenges, and can share solutions.
  • You have personal learning that could benefit others.
  • It’s only one (1) hour of your time (you can even submit a joint presentation with a colleague).
  • You can earn credits toward your professional re-certification.

2017 Theme

The BCI theme this year is: Cyber Resilience

Can I Give a Presentation?

You don’t need to be an expert to have a story to share! You might be a great speaker with a case study or personal learning that could help others think differently about how to approach a situation and avoid pitfalls in their planning or response to an event.

It’s Easy To Submit A Proposal

Submit your presentation idea to events@toronto.drie.org  by 5:00 pm EST on Friday April 7, 2017. Include your available times throughout May for planning purposes – ensure all times are EST. Let us know if you’re interested and available for off-hours webinars to promote the webinar series to international attendees.

Still Not Sure?

Want to discuss a presentation idea first? Contact Roma Chrobak at 416-409-2706 or Mona Vaughan-Burnett at 416-601-5392.

Webinar Dos and Don’ts

If you are a consultant or represent a business, feel free to name yourself and your company to give yourself some exposure. However, do not include promotional material and corporate history – webinar time is to be dedicated to participant learning.

Webinars are 1 hour in length. Try to keep your presentation to 45-50 minutes to permit Q&A at the end.

Web conferencing facilities and moderators will be provided. You may use your own web conferencing facility and moderator if you prefer.

DRIE may record your webinar and post it to the BCAW site. Let us know if either recording of the webinar or posting of your slide deck is not possible for confidentiality reasons.

Pass It On

We welcome and encourage you to forward this email to your work colleagues or others you believe might be willing to support our 2017 BCAW Program.

This series of webinars is brought to you by the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Business Continuity professionals and information together.
